ABOUT THE TEACHER

An alum of Cathedral School and Cardinal Gibbons in Raleigh, Bonnie graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and a minor in Textile Marketing. From 2005-2012 she lived in New York City, working as a designer for architecture firms and marketing/communication groups. Realizing her love for sharing the creative spirit with young people, she began teaching extra-curricular Art classes at public and private schools in NYC and eventually took on the role of Art teacher at Immaculate Conception School in Astoria, Queens. Upon moving back to the Triangle she taught Art at The Franciscan School, where the Kids Create! program was born.

Bonnie's artwork has been shown The Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC (mixed media- 2005) and the hpgrp gallery in New York City (photography- various shows, 2007 to 2009).

Bonnie hails from Cary, North Carolina and currently works as a freelance graphic designer and instructor of the Kids Create! program. In addition to her work in Art and Design, she is also a licensed NC Real Estate agent. She lives in downtown Cary with her husband Doug, owner/manager of Chatham Street Wine Market, their son Gabe, and their two rescue dogs, Biscuit and Betsy.
